See Sharper, Without Glasses or Lenses

LASIK is a laser procedure used to correct vision. It works by reshaping the cornea, the clear surface at the front of the eye, to treat nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism. Once the cornea shape is adjusted, light entering the eye focuses correctly on the retina, bringing the image into sharp focus. At Lall 20/20 Eye Care, we map each patient’s cornea using computer-guided lasers before the procedure. Every eye is different, so the treatment plan is built to match yours specifically.

Even patients with similar vision problems may need different LASIK approaches, since every eye is shaped differently. That’s why each treatment plan is designed around your eyes alone. Here’s what’s worth knowing:

FAQs

Q1. Am I a good candidate for LASIK?

Depends. You’ll need stable vision for at least a year and refractive error within a certain range, plus no other underlying eye problems. Get checked, and you’ll know for sure.

Not really. There’s some discomfort during the procedure, but it passes fast. Most people go back to their routine in a few days.

Same as any surgery, there’s some risk. Dry eyes, glare, correction being a little off. None of that’s common, and it’s usually fixable when it happens.

Years, typically. A few people need a touch-up down the line, but most never do.
